UCL on a mission to firm up China relationships

University College London President Professor Michael Arthur will lead a weeklong mission to China next week, as the university aims to strengthen its ties with Peking University and China-based alumni and supporters.

President Arthur and a delegation of academics from UCL will visit Hong Kong, Shanghai and Beijing as they meet with business leaders, government ministers, alumni and the President of Peking University.

Taking place on 6th-12th November, the trip will build on existing partnerships between UCL and Peking University.

These include an initiative to get UK secondary school pupils learning Mandarin, a new joint degree programme in medical humanities and an announced research centre for sustainable mega-city development.
