New research shows that at least 1 in 5 Brits wouldn’t be surprised to find out they had a long-lost relative.
It may not come as a surprise then that some people are beginning to look into their own DNA for the answers. 1 in 20 16-34 years olds have even hired a Private Investigator to learn more about their family history, with 1 in 6 having used an ancestry service.
The lack of discussion also means that many don’t know details of their nearest and dearest, with nearly a third not knowing mother’s place of birth, and 1 in 10 not knowing their mother’s full name.
70% of Brits are still to discover their roots perhaps now is the time to start tracing our way through our family tree.
